Spektrum Smart version G2 launches a new generation of LiPol accumulators for model airplanes and cars. The basic concept is a battery without a classic balancer connector, with only one connector of the IC series, while the voltage comparison of individual cells is handled by the electronics of the SMART battery and charger and the single-wire data cable that is part of the IC connector. The cooperating electronics of the battery and the charger can provide the user with information that is important for assessing the quality of the battery, i.e. the state of the individual cells and storing the history of a specific battery in the charger. Using faster automatic discharge up to 1.5A for safe storage voltage will save you time.

Users enjoy a number of benefits when using Spektrum™ Smart G2 LiPol batteries. Thanks to Smart technology and new "generation 2" features, these LiPol battery packs are even easier and safer to use with your Smart charger.

Smart G2 batteries are programmed from the factory to automatically adjust the voltage to a safe storage voltage of 3.9V per battery after 72 hours of inactivity. This will give your battery a longer life, better performance throughout the life of the battery. You can cancel the automatic Storage setting using the Smart charger. The G2 batteries also offer a higher discharge rate for Storage, which is three times faster than the previous G1 Smart battery.

Smart G2 soft case LiPol packs also include internal metal side plates. These plates improve heat dissipation and provide more cell protection against punctures during rough landings or in the event of an impact.

As with other Smart batteries, you do not need to set your own Spektrum™ Smart G2 battery charging preferences unless you want to change the parameters. When a Smart G2 LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum™ Smart charger, its unique charging parameters and health information are loaded into the charger from an integrated memory microchip. You can view and set preferences such as current through the charger, so all that is needed to charge the battery is to connect it to your SMART charger. SMART technology takes care of the rest.

Connection and charging with IC connector only

When connected to the Spektrum™ Smart charger, the Smart G2's unique battery parameters, health and cell information are automatically loaded from its memory microchip via the data wire of the IC2 connector. To charge the battery, simply connect it to the Smart charger. Safe charging starts automatically and no separate balance cable is needed.

Data available

An integrated microchip allows each Smart G2 battery to store important information such as battery type, condition and number of cells, capacity, number of charge cycles, number of discharges, C rating, battery temperature and internal resistance. In addition, each battery stores a log of non-standard events such as overcharge, overdischarge and overheating.

Automatic Smart Storage setup

Spektrum™ Smart G2 batteries practically take care of themselves, they are programmed from the factory to automatically adjust the cell voltage to a safe storage voltage of 3.9V after 72 hours of inactivity. The result is longer battery life, better performance over the life of the battery. The user can change the settings using the charger and turn off automatic storage.

Simple and fast

Preset charging, discharging and storage parameters are automatically transferred from the Spektrum™ Smart G2 battery to your Smart Charger, making charging as easy as connecting to the battery. The charging speed of each set can also be customized by the user, allowing you to take full advantage of faster charging sets. The battery's integrated microchip remembers the last set charging speed, so the next time you connect, these settings are automatically loaded.
