The Smart system consists of a compatible Spektrum transmitter, a Smart receiver, a Smart controller, or a Smart battery.

The controller is controlled by a modern 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller. The controller reads information about the type, temperature and voltage of the battery cells directly from the Smart battery via the data cable. So you no longer need any sensors or modules, everything simply goes together. The information will be displayed on the transmitter display (it is necessary to have a Spektrum 2nd generation transmitter with current firmware (Spektrum DX5C, DX5R, DX5 Pro, DX6R).

Data transfer over one wire

An amazing innovation is the very simple connection, which is a key issue especially for RC car models. Data transfer from the Smart battery to the controller is via one data wire, which is part of the IC connector. Data is transmitted to the receiver via the SRXL2 protocol. Of course, Spektrum Firma controllers are also backward compatible with the classic PWM signal, so you can operate the controller on the classic PWM output, but without transmitting telemetry data.

Waterproof construction*

The electronics of Spektrum Firma controllers for RC car models are completely embedded in a special potting material that prevents moisture or dirt from entering the electronics. The regulator is switched on and adjusted with the buttons under the rubber cover.

IC5/EC5 connector compatibility

The Spektrum Smart controller Firma 120A is equipped with battery connectors of the IC series. When used with a Spektrum Smart battery equipped with an IC connector, the controller can receive and transmit battery telemetry data. EC connectors are backward compatible with IC connectors, but you will lose the ability to load data from the accumulator.

Information about the Smart battery

When using a controller with a Spektrum Smart battery, the automation controller reads all data from the battery. The display of the Spektrum transmitter will show you useful information such as the number of cycles, the remaining battery capacity, the voltage of individual cells.

Sophisticated design with optimized cooling

Firma regulators are fitted with a large heatsink on the top, which removes heat from the power components. Thanks to its compact dimensions, placing the controller in the model is very easy.

Wide programming options
