Characteristics
The Copperhead controller with a 1412 2100rpm AC motor with a 5 mm shaft, for RC car models in 1:10 scale, is an ideal choice for those who want an AC sensor motor in the model. Thanks to the sensor AC motor and the state-of-the-art electronics of the controller, you get high power, acceleration and smooth running even at low speeds. The controller has a very powerful BEC circuit and it is possible to supply powerful high-torque servos with it. The completely new design of the controller was created for moderately demanding users. The controller is powerfully located between the Sidewinder 4 and the extremely powerful Mamba X.
The revolutionary CRYO-DRIVE technology increases efficiency and lowers the temperature of the electronics. Supply voltage for this combo 2S-4S LiPo . The BEC is adjustable to 5.5 V or 7.5 V and can handle a current of 6 A as well.
Recommended use
Construction
The electronics of the controller are housed in a robust body and encapsulated with a waterproof epoxy. This system minimizes the risk of water entering the electronics and promotes efficient heat transfer. Modified radiator fins maximize airflow from a 30 mm fan. The fan is not waterproof and can be removed when used in a wet environment. The controller is also equipped with gold-plated connectors for motor connection, LED indication and a switch with a rubber cover (against the ingress of dirt). The input power cables are tin-plated, it depends on you which connector you have in the model.
Cryo-Drive technology
The biggest losses occur during switching on and off of power transistors. Castle Creations has developed a completely new software that reduces the switching frequency of power transistors. The result is a radical reduction in heat loss in both the controller and the motor itself, increased efficiency and, ultimately, longer travel times.
SmartSense technology
SmartSense mode ™ uses engine sensors to start the engine and ensures smooth starting, excellent torque and control at low speeds. As soon as the motor spins, it switches smoothly to the effective mode without a sensor. This gives the model more energy instead of wasting heat and energy.
Programming options
The controller can be set via transmitter (basic settings), Castle Link USB adapter, Castle field Link or B-Link Bluetooth.
Only basic parameters can be set via the transmitter. Complete settings can be made via the Castle Link USB adapter or Castle field Link.
DATA LOG Lite from driving and sound signaling
The controller allows you to record basic data - battery voltage, controller and motor temperature, motor speed. After the race or during the test drives, you can view this data on a computer and evaluate it. While not a full version of the Mamba X Extreme 1:10 data logging features, these parameters are an excellent source of information for maximizing performance and battery life.
The controller also supports sound signaling. With the help of sound signals, you can easily recognize what is happening with the controller.
Telemetry for transmitters
By connecting the Telektretry Telemetry Link Spektrum XBUS adapter (sold separately) you get the complete telemetry of the controller, which you can view on Spektrum transmitters. You can get the same function for Futaba transmitters by purchasing the Futaba S.BUS2 Telemetry Link adapter. The function must be enabled via the Castle Link program.

Construction of AC motors Motor
The advantage of Castle AC motors is especially high efficiency and smooth running from zero speed when using a sensor controller. Sensor motors can therefore be recommended for both fast and slow-moving models, such as crawlers or expedition RC car models.
The stator (fixed outer part of the motor) is composed of mutually insulated iron sheets of thickness. The stator winding is impregnated against moisture and is defined by a special potting compound. The winding terminals are made of solid strips.
The rotor (rotating inner part of the motor) is made of a hardened steel shaft in which neodymium magnets are glued. To increase strength, the rotor is braided with Kevlar fabric and a two-component adhesive. Another set of 4 magnets is used to measure the rotor position. The rotor is defined between the bearings by a ring-shaped leaf spring.
The aluminum fronts have high-quality ball bearings, the rear face is fitted with Hall sensors sensing the rotor position and a temperature sensor for measuring the internal temperature of the engine. / p>
