KAVAN two-stroke engines are an excellent choice for recreational sports, aerobatic models and model aircraft. They are characterized by reliable operation and very easy adjustment; they are in the best sense of the word "consumer" engines that every fan of the smell of gasoline - or rather methyl - can afford to buy and operate. And if you give them adequate care, they will reliably power your models for many years.
KAVAN S40AII is a two-stroke glow plug engine of classic design with ABC piston and liner designed for all types of aircraft models. It is equipped with a two-needle RC carburetor with a separate main needle mounted on the rear cover; the basic assembly also includes an expansion muffler.
The crankshaft has a UNF 1/4-28 propeller nut thread.
Recommended propeller dimensions:
Run-in: 10×6"
Sport and Acrobat: 10.5×6"
Mockup: 11×5"
Recommended fuel tank: 200–250 ml.
Recommended fuel: Non-nitrated "FAI" fuel with 20% castor oil or similar with a castor/synthetic oil mixture or with synthetic oil and 1-15% nitromethane. We recommend using fuel with at least a small nitromethane content - the engine then runs very reliably and the carburetor adjustment is easier and less sensitive to temperature changes and other environmental influences.
Recommended spark plug: KAVAN GP-1, OS MAX No.6 (formerly known as A3), KAVAN Premium No.1., when using fuel with a higher nitromethane content OS MAX No.8., KAVAN Premium No.3
