    Template information:

The Nissan Skyline GT-R is a Japanese sports car based on the Nissan Skyline series. The first cars named "Skyline GT-R" were produced from 1969 to 1972 under the model code KPGC10 and were successful in Japanese touring car races. This model was followed by a short run of 110 production cars of the second generation under the model code KPGC1973.

The successor to the 1973 KPGC110 was introduced at the 1972 Tokyo Motor Show. Powered by a 989 20cc inline-6 S1 engine, the second generation GT-R sent power to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. This car also had front and rear disc brakes. The suspension was a semi-trailing arm and minor aerodynamic parts were added.

The second generation GT-R was unsuccessful as the gasoline crisis hit in the early 1970s, reducing demand for high-performance sports cars. By the end of the short production run, a total of 197 cars were produced. It was the last GT-R for the following decade until the production of the R32 in 1989.
