    Original information

The Fiat 500 was introduced in July 1957 as the successor to the Topolino model, with which it had in particular miniature external dimensions. The design of the car, which had a total length of less than 3 meters, was almost identical to the larger related model 600. The two-cylinder, air-cooled engine was mounted at the rear and powered the rear axle. The volume of 479 cm3 was enough for a maximum output of 13 hp (10 kW). Thanks to its low weight of only 470 kg, the car was able to reach a top speed of 85 km / h.

The Fiat 500 had independent suspension of all four wheels (front on the upper wishbones and lower wishbone, the rear axle was angled with an inclined swing axis), a four-speed non-synchronized transmission and drum brakes, which together with the transmission remained unchanged until the end of production.

    Bburago Classic model range
