The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was built from 1954 to 1963. First, as a coupé from 1954 to 1957 with a gullwing door Mercedes-Benz introduced 300 SL in February 1954 at the International Motor Show in New York. 300 denotes an engine displacement of 300 centi-liter or more specifically 2,996 cm 3 (182.8 cu in).
