Characteristics
The RC model of the Traxxas Jato VXL-4S buggy in 1:8 scale brings high speed, durability, 4x4 drive and, most importantly, a fun ride. It features a chassis with a low center of gravity, precise suspension geometry and optimal weight distribution for agility and excellent driving dynamics. The result is that the Jato 4x4 handles with the precision of a racing buggy and provides all the user benefits and simplicity of Traxxas models. The model is powered by an extra powerful brushless motor with a VXL-4S controller and goes up to 96 km/h! It features a clipless body for easy battery replacement, anodized aluminum parts and components for high durability - Extreme Heavy Duty. The TQi 2.4 GHz RC kit provides an additional portion of functions in the form of electronic TSM ride stabilization, Bluetooth connection and telemetry (a BT module is required for Bluetooth and telemetry - sold separately).

The new platform uses a modular design for easy service, the chassis is flat and the lower skid plates allow the model to slide on its belly. The strength of the spatial chassis is reinforced by the central aluminum T-Bar reinforcement with colored anodizing. Excellent shock absorption is ensured by the GT R aluminum shock absorbers, which contain a larger amount of oil than standard ones, exceptionally smooth and comfortable spring preload adjustment. Engine power is transmitted via a center differential, center shaft to the front and rear differentials with metal gears and via robust telescopic half-axles to the wheels. To reduce the tilt of the model when driving on the track, you can install optional lateral stabilizers (sold separately).
The VXL-4S controller with three driving modes provides all the telemetry that you can view on your phone (for telemetry, a Bluetooth module must be added to the transmitter, sold separately). The receiver contains exclusive TSM electronic stabilization technology, which helps with controlling the model. Precise control is provided by the TQi transmitter with precision mechanics. Of course, a wide range of tuning parts is available, including complete replacement parts.

Extreme performance of the VXL-4S
The Jato contains the same Velineon 540XL brushless motor as in the Maxx® model. It is the largest Traxxas motor for this type of car and is controlled by the new VXL-4s™ controller with integrated telemetry and an adjustable BEC source at 6.0 or 7.4 V. When powered by a 4S LiPo battery, the model has incredible acceleration and speed.

Extreme Heavy Duty Components
Factory-installed suspension and drive components for high durability - Extreme Heavy Duty, are made of the most durable materials that Traxxas uses. Strength is further enhanced by an aluminum center brace and shock towers with double shear mounting. The robust half-axles have an improved universal joint mounting.
Stability and control
The model's center of gravity is centered low, below the axle level, for perfect weight distribution and associated maneuverability. Extra-long aluminum GTR shock absorbers front and rear maximize traction by keeping the new Response Pro Jato 4X4 tires in constant contact with the surface.

Clipless body
The unique body attachment system using beaks on the sides allows for quick and easy battery replacement, and the clean appearance of the model is not disturbed by clips. The body has improved aerodynamics and eliminates the so-called parachute effect. The large rear wing provides the necessary downforce and at the same time protects the model in the event of a rollover.

Model structure

Chassis with a low center of gravity
The model's chassis is made up of a proven combination of a spatial structure with hexagonal elements and a composite nylon structure with individual components that fit together precisely. Thanks to the long wheelbase and wide track, the Jato provides stability even at high speeds.

Modular construction
Thanks to the modular construction, the Jato 4x4 can be easily disassembled into parts using just a screwdriver. Within a minute, you have access to all important components, model settings and service maintenance.
T-Bar Chassis Brace
Jato 4x4 borrowed the Sledge's patented T-shaped 6061-T6 high-strength aluminum center brace, which connects the front to the rear, adds extra rigidity and a beautiful appearance, thanks to colored anodizing. No ordinary tube can match the strength of this shape.

Glide plates
Low-profile skid plates at the front and rear allow for long arm travel and protect important drive components from damage. The plates also complement the clean lines of the chassis, which will not get caught on obstacles.
Long arm stroke
The long arm stroke absorbs even sharp impacts and improves the model's handling. In every situation, it will have precise and fast steering response, thanks to maximum contact with the ground.
Suspension arms
The arms use a trapezoidal construction and are made of Traxxas' most durable material, which maintains its properties even in cold weather. From the racetrack to the skatepark, the Jato will withstand even the most severe impacts.
Shock Towers
New robust shock towers are reinforced to withstand model rollovers. The front tower is equipped with a cover to protect the shocks. The pressure wing is attached directly to the rear shock tower for extra rigidity.
Aluminum oil shock absorbers
GTR shock absorbers with an aluminum body and Teflon (PTFE) coating represent the pinnacle of technology. Their diameter can hold up to 70% more oil than standard Ultra shock absorbers. The shock absorber is equipped with double X-rings to prevent oil leakage around the piston rod. Spring preload is conveniently adjusted using a nut.
Precision steering
The front wheel steering mechanism is implemented through the Dual-Bell-Crank system, which ensures precise operation of the linkages to the wheels. The steering has an integrated cam servo-saver that absorbs shocks and protects the servo against overload. The connectors are one-piece and have an ideal length for driving characteristics.

Battery compartment
The universal compartment holds a 4S LiPo 5000 mAh battery for huge power and long operating time. To install a smaller 2-3S LiPo battery, use the included shorter post. Shorter batteries can be placed further forward or backward to fine-tune the center of gravity.

Downforce wing
The elegant rear low-profile wing provides downforce for increased stability at high speeds. The lateral vertical guide generates additional downforce for better steering response.

Waterproof* construction
The model uses a number of patented solutions that reduce the risk of water entering the electronics, such as the receiver box seal, servos, or epoxy-encased controller electronics. This gives you the incentive to go for a ride regardless of the weather.

4WD drive system

Inter-tooth clearance
A fixed motor mounting system with pre-drilled holes according to the gear ratio eliminates doubts about setting the correct inter-tooth clearance. The gears always fit together precisely for maximum efficiency and long service life.

Center differential
The center differential absorbs engine shocks and distributes power between the front and rear axles. Unlike traditional differentials, even when some wheels slip, it still delivers power to all wheels.

Metal differentials
The Jato is equipped with high-quality differentials with metal gears that are fully prepared for the power of the AC drive. Precision X-ring seals allow differentials to be tuned for specific operating conditions by changing the oil viscosity.

Robust gear teeth
The 32DP gear tooth module means that the steel teeth are large and durable enough for the motor power and drive of the VXL-4S.

Maxx-Duty half-axles
The half-axles with reinforced universal joints are made to handle the power of the AC motor without any problems. 6 mm output shafts are connected to 17 mm driveshafts.

17 mm aluminum driveshafts
17 mm aluminum wheel driveshafts create a large contact area for power transfer to the wheels. Their grooved design further increases durability. The driveshafts are compatible with most standard 1:8 wheels.

Ball bearings
Large ball bearings are used throughout the drivetrain for smooth operation. The bearings are equipped with a plastic cover to prevent dirt from getting in. This solution extends the life of the model and simplifies maintenance.

Response Pro 3" wheels and tires
The unique look of the model is given by traditional 3" Buggy wheels with Response Pro tires. The 4.5" tires have a soft S1 compound for high grip.
Buggy body

Steering servo
The Traxxas 2075 high-torque waterproof digital servo with a DC motor and nylon gears has a torque of 9.0 kg.cm and a speed of 0.17 s/60°@ 6.0 V. For water resistance*, the servo box and output sprocket are fitted with a seal. Two ball bearings provide very smooth operation.

540XL Brushless Motor
The model is powered by a powerful 540XL 2400 rpm/V brushless motor with a robust 5 mm shaft. Strong and temperature-resistant neodymium magnets, high-speed bearings and four-pole winding ensure smooth operation and long service life. The metal motor housing effectively dissipates heat from the stator.

Brushless Controller
The brand new Traxxas VXL-4S brushless controller is designed to be powered by a single battery up to 2-4S LiPo. Easy one-button setup. LED status indication. Heat dissipation using a massive heat sink, which can be supplemented with an optional fan (not included). Water-resistant* construction.
The ESC has an adjustable BEC via Bluetooth (sold separately). The BEC can be set to 6.0 V for standard servos, or 7.4 V for powerful HV servos.
Riding modes:
- Sport - speed, brake and reverse. The ESC provides full power forward and backward, this mode is the default.
- Race - forward and brake (i.e. no reverse). This mode is suitable for races where you do not need reverse.
- Trainer - the controller has reduced throttle and reverse power to 50%. A mode suitable for beginners and children.

Real-time telemetry
The exclusive controller with advanced electronics is equipped for real-time telemetry measurement. Using a wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, it is possible to monitor speed, engine speed and battery voltage, directly in real time on your phone. The controller provides telemetry data and does not require the installation of additional sensors.

Traxxas TQi RC kit with Bluetooth ready
Traxxas has prepared a completely new line of two-channel RC kits with Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth module (sold separately) allows you to connect the RC model to the clear graphic Traxxas Link application, which you can install on your smartphone for free.
The Traxxas Link app for Apple devices is available for free on the AppStore, the app for Google Android devices is free on the GooglePlay.

The Traxxas Link App is a powerful app that gives you complete control over the operation and tuning of your Traxxas RC model with stunning visualization and absolute precision settings. Traxxas Link can display real-time telemetry data from your model, such as speed, RPM, temperature, battery voltage, and tilt. (The telemetry provided varies by model type.) You can share your RC model settings, create as many profiles as you want for specific tracks or users, such as kids. All in one app with the brilliant graphics that come with Traxxas.

Traxxas TQi Receiver
Traxxas TQi 5-channel TSM RC receiver with telemetry for Traxxas TQi transmitters. Easy to use, pairing with a button. Status indication by LED diode. The receiver integrates 3-axis MEMS sensors for learning the receiver's position.
The 5-channel receiver is also equipped with two connectors for connecting RPM (speed) and V/T (voltage/temperature) telemetry sensors.
Furthermore, a telemetry expansion module can be connected to the 4-pin connector, into which you can connect up to 6 more sensors, including a very accurate GPS speed sensor.

Traxxas Stability Management
The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) stabilization system allows you to experience not only power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speeds, but also guarantees much easier steering and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow.
The receiver contains a MEMS 3-axis gyro and accelerometer, which evaluates the movement of the model 100 times per second and corrects the direction of the model by appropriate interventions in the steering of the front wheels. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power - you have 100% control over the engine power. The algorithms are tuned for each model separately. The level of assistance is adjusted using the multi-function controller on the transmitter or in the Traxxas Link application.

Tuning servos
For maximum durability and performance during extreme driving, you can install a tuning servo with high torque and metal gears such as the TRA2250, TRA2255, or TRA2280.

Accessories for normal operation
For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, high-quality tire glue, silicone oil for shock absorbers and a set of screwdrivers. From our range, we recommend an affordable set of car tools.
The screw glue is dripped onto the thread or head of the screw, which fixes it and prevents vibrations caused by driving from loosening the screw joint. The screw glue has a special composition that allows easy loosening of the screw joint with an appropriate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary super glue, a screw glued in this way may be impossible to loosen at all!
Tire glue is used to glue tires to the rim of the wheel. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued to the wheel rim around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may burst. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon and at the same time the glue is flexible after hardening. Never use ordinary superglue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks would gradually form in the tire around the rims!
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the model's shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are available for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating can be easily identified by their golden-green color.
