Information about the original:

The Opel Blitz project was created with the aim of starting mass production of a robust and reliable utility vehicle that could be used for various tasks and work. Opel started production of the first trucks, designed according to a typically American model, at its plant in Rüsselsheim in the early 1930s. This successful project developed over time and continued until the mid-1970s. The toughness and robust construction of the Opel Blitz was noticed by the Wehrmacht, who subsequently deployed it during the Second World War, both in 4x2 and 4x4 versions. However, its wartime role was later overshadowed by its great commercial success as a civilian vehicle. In the period of post-war reconstruction, the Opel Blitz was indispensable to Germany's recovery, as it was used by merchants, craftsmen, industrialists and many others to get their country back on its feet.
