The Access+ game series is specially adapted to support the correction of cognitive impairments.
Games are a tool that stimulates abilities and helps prioritize feelings of joy and shared play.
Thanks to bigger cards and symbols, the joy of playing can really be enjoyed by everyone! Choose your difficulty level, your preferred rules and start playing! Be the first to find the same symbol on your card and on the laid out card. An excellent (and fun) way to strengthen attention and observation skills.
Cognitive functions used in the game Dobble Access+:
Attention and observation:
Three customized variations of Dobble Access+ stimulate players' attention, requiring them to carefully examine the cards in the game. Players must concentrate and direct their attention to the two cards they are comparing, while ignoring other stimuli. Furthermore, they must quickly, accurately and strategically view the presented visual details (observations).
Impulsivity regulation and flexibility:
Players need to be careful not to make mistakes in analysis when looking at cards quickly. Keeping your foot on the imaginary brake so that they don't react too quickly requires impulsivity regulation. Players thus gain the mental space to monitor their mental activity, their decisions and physical actions to achieve an optimal result.
Short-term and working memory:
Three customized variations of Dobble Access+ by players require the processing of temporary information in short-term memory. When players look at the pictures on one card, they must retain the perceived visual information (or verbal information if they are naming the search elements) in their short-term memory to be able to find it on the other card. Through repetition or mental visualization of images, their working memory allows them to associate information in short-term memory with what is happening in the game.
Other cognitive functions:
Regardless of the rules chosen, players must regulate their emotions during the game, as not everyone will be able to play at the same pace. This can cause irritation and frustration and lead to sudden mood swings. Players then use their lexical field to access the words that describe the pictures in order to name the connection. Players with a lexical deficit may point to the corresponding symbol rather than name it. And players also use imagination to temporarily hold observed images, which they sometimes mentally manipulate to compare. Making these associations can be accelerated by planning visual search before the game begins.

Expert view: Christophe Debien - Hospital Psychiatrist:
Playing may be healing, but it is undoubtedly soothing, strengthening and developing. This is probably why games are among the many facilitation tools that we use every day when working with patients, be it to stimulate bad memory, improve impaired attention and projection skills, or revive motor skills.
The new line of Access+ games not only brings games suitable for caregivers and those they care for, in a fun way. It brings much more: it enables games to be used as part of care by adapting and changing them so that everyone – families, therapists and patients – can develop together with others.
