Original information:
Armored Recovery Vehicles (ARV) was first introduced in World War II. It was built on the wagons of already existing armored cars, only the main armament and towers were removed, and other specialized equipment for the rescue and repair of armored combat vehicles damaged in battle was installed instead. The American M-32 ARV was built on the chassis of the well-known Sherman A-4 medium tank and the US Army used it in World War II on European battlefields. Typical for him was a superstructure that allowed lift and towing damaged tanks. In addition, he carried on board a load of repair tools and spare parts, which only augmented his role as a true "mobile armor" capable of operating on the frontline. So the M-32 could perform even more complex operations like replacing the tank engine. After World War II, he was also used by the Americans in the Korean War and in the rest of the world he served until the 1990s.
