Characteristics

The Traxxas Summit 1:16 TQ RTR is an assembled, ready-to-ride model. All you have to do is add the charger and 4 x lead-acid batteries to the transmitter. It is equipped with a Titan ® 12T 550 engine, which is used in larger models. The powerful engine provides almost unlimited torque for instant acceleration. With massive suspension, an extremely powerful engine and 4WD drive, the Summit will power through even the toughest terrain. The model is equipped with LED lights , which not only add to the attractiveness, but also provide illumination of the track in the dark. There are integrated beds for two batteries in the body of the model.

LED lighting

The amazingly illuminated Summit model, with four LEDs on the front bumper and another four on the upper cage, lights up the road ahead. Dual red LEDs in the rear bumper and high-mounted taillights allow you to watch the Summit ride from behind.

Chassis

Summit is built on the chassis of proven Revo models. It includes a special suspension system with rocker arm re-leverage, full equipment with ball bearings, 12 mm hexagon wheel hubs, oil-adjustable shock absorbers and closed silicone-filled differentials are a matter of course. The model will simply amaze you with its performance.

Dampers in the chassis of the model

The model uses a unique suspension system where the shock absorbers are safely stored in the chassis of the model. The swing of the arm is transmitted to the shock absorber by means of a tie rod and a rocker arm.

Oil dampers

This small RC model can also handle rugged terrain, thanks to GTR oil shock absorbers. The shock absorbers contain sealing rings that minimize oil penetration around the piston rod. The shock absorbers are fully adjustable, the spring preload can be conveniently changed with a nut on the shock absorber, the stiffness can be changed by changing the viscosity of the oils.

Gearbox with friction clutch

The single-speed gearbox on the model serves to increase the torque transmitted to the wheels. Part of the transmission is a friction clutch, which allows for nimble acceleration, but at the same time absorbs the impact of the engine, thus protecting the entire drivetrain of the model.

4WD drive through differentials

The model is equipped with a front and rear differential. This ensures that the power is distributed between the individual wheels like a real car. The tightness of the differential is determined by the viscosity of the oil in the differential. Therefore, the tightness can be changed if you change the oil in the differential to a thicker or a thinner one.

Canyon AT tires

Canyon AT tires will provide perfect acceleration on any terrain. The tires are glued to the discs, the high-quality rubber compound of the tires ensures excellent grip on all surfaces.

Servo steering

Digital mini servo Traxxas servo 2080A waterproof with DC motor and nylon gears has a torque of 3 kg.cm and a speed of 0.11 s/60°@ 6.0 V. For water resistance*, the servo box is fitted with a seal.

Powerful Titan 12T engine

The car model is fitted with a modified Titan 550 12T DC motor. The motor has 30% more power than conventional 540 motors. The rotor at the back of the motor contains a propeller that blows air into the motor and effectively cools it.

Regulator XL 2.5 LVD

Traxxas XL 2.5 LVD DC controller providing fully proportional throttle, reverse and brake control. In electronics, modern MOSFET transistors with high efficiency and low losses are used for perfect performance. The regulator is waterproof and suitable for all conditions. Power supply 4 to 8 cells NiMH or 2 cells LiPol. The controllers can be calibrated, 3 driving modes and the type of NiMH or LiPol batteries can be set. Low voltage detection and built-in BEC 6V. Easy setting with one button and color indicator diode.

Driving modes:

Sports mode: full power forward and reverse, brake.
Race mode: full power forward and brake, reverse is not available to meet the rules of some races.
Training mode: 50% regulator power forward, 50% power backward, 100% brake. This mode is suitable for getting to know the driving characteristics of the model for the first time or for children.

TQ receiver

The Traxxas TQ 2.4 GHz three-channel receiver ensures safe driving without interruptions. Easy pairing with one button. Status indication by LED diode.

Traxxas TQ RC Kit

The model is controlled by a two-channel proportional steering wheel RC radio Traxxas TQ, working in the 2.4 GHz band - operation without interference. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA cells.

There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the steering (so that the model goes straight if the steering wheel is in the center position). The status of the batteries in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. Reverse can be set on the transmitter on the throttle and steering channels.

Recommended spare batteries

To extend the driving time, we recommend purchasing an additional battery. For regular riding and for children, we recommend buying one more identical NiMH battery, which is included in the package. For maximum driving time and higher performance, you can use modern LiPo batteries. If you use different types of accumulators, it is always necessary to set the type of the connected accumulator on the controller!

Accessories for normal operation

For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need bolt glue, good quality tire glue, silicone shock oil and a set of screwdrivers. We recommend an affordable set of tools for cars from our range.

The thread or head of the screw is dripped with screw glue, which fixes it and the vibrations caused by driving will not allow the screw connection to loosen. The screw adhesive has a special composition that allows the screw connection to be easily loosened with an adequate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary instant glue, it might be impossible to loosen a screw stuck like this!

Tire glue is used to glue the tires to the disc rim. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly stuck to the wheel rim all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, after hardening, the glue is flexible. Never use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks would gradually form in the tire around the rims!

Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the dampers of the model. During normal operation, there are only slight leaks of silicone oil on the piston rods of the shock absorber. In the event that the surface of the damper pistons or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large. For these cases, so-called repair kits are supplied. In the range of tuning parts, piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating are delivered to all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN surface are easily recognized by their golden-green color.
