Original information:
In February 1943, the first prototypes of new heavy tanks, designed to equip the Red Army Tank Regiments and even the forces against the new and effective German Tigers and Panthers, were designed as a replacement for the outdated series of KVs. The most famous of them was Joseph Stalin JS-2. He had a strong 122mm D25-T cannon mounted in the main cannon and a cast body, a heavy armor, and a twelve-cylinder diesel unit with 600 horses. Its total weight was 46 tons. He participated in the battles that led to the liberation of Ukraine, the conquest of Hungary, and the final phase of the Second World War in Europe on the very battle of Berlin.
