AH-64 Apache can be considered the most famous attack helicopter in history. It was designed to operate in the front line and to carry out missions against tanks and helicopters, ambush missions and missions close to air support in all weather conditions and in any operating environment. The AH-64D Longbow is its improved version with more advanced attacking capabilities and more accurate targeting systems. For the "Longbow", the AN / APG-78 radar is hidden in the row above the main rotor. Its elevated position allows the detection of targets and the use of missiles, such as Hellfire anti-tank missiles, even when a helicopter is hidden behind hills, trees or buildings and out of reach of the enemy. Its main weapon is a 30mm M230 cannon placed under the cockpit. The AH-64D can carry a large arsenal of offensive weapons, like missiles and guided missiles, on its four pylons mounted on short auxiliary wings.
