The Bell AH1 Cobra is a combat helicopter manufactured by the American manufacturer Bell Helicopter in the 1960s. It is considered the first true combat helicopter and was first used in the Vietnam War. It was originally designed as a transport helicopter, but once it assumed its new role as a heavily armed attack helicopter, it was given the more fitting designation "Cobra".
