Original information:
"Bismarck" with a displacement of 42,343 tons was the largest and most modern battleship in the world (together with the British "Hood"). The water was launched on February 14, 1940 at the Blohm " Voss shipyard in Hamburg, and next to his sister ship "Tirpitz" it was the most advanced and most prestigious ship of the German Navy. He measured a total length of 251 meters and the top of his main mast was 52 meters above sea level. Its protection consisted of 17 450 tons of armor plates. Newly designed heavy cannons shot projectiles weighing 800 kg up to a distance of 34.2 km, and up to 21 km it was able to burn a 350 mm armor.
On May 24, 1941, the Bismarck, along with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, managed to sink the largest British Battlecruiser "Hood" in its naval battle at the border of the ice field near Greenland through a direct intervention of the fifth salvo from its 380mm gun. Although "Prinz Eugen" did not get any direct hit, the "Bismarck", which was damaged in the front, was to be hidden in the French port. However, in a subsequent persecution by British ships and planes, on May 27, 1941, one of the torpedoes rushed, and after a series of other interventions by the Home Fleet ships, which were in clear cross, Bismarck was paralyzed and eventually also sunk in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean 800 km from the French Coast. Of the 2092 crew members survived only 115.
