Königstiger (Royal Tiger) was the world's toughest mass-produced tank. With his huge 88mm long cannon, he managed to destroy the enemy Sherman tank at a distance of 3.5 km. Tigers were delivered to the army in February 1944 and were first put into battle in May, in battles near Minsk. Two companies equipped with these horrific machines also participated in the Battle of Normandy during the operations of D. Königstiger Day in the hands of an experienced crew was the most dangerous enemy of any tanker of the Second World War.
