MDM-1 Fox is a two-seat version of the Polish aerobatic glider Swift S-1 designed for aerobatics training. Compared to Swift, it has an extended torso and an extended span; as far as the allowed "G" is concerned, the solo cast limit is only "fous" lower (+ 9 / -6G versus + 10 / -7,5G). The Czech national team also flies with Fox - and now you can fly with the "electrified" semi-scale model in a modernized version with flaps and revised rudder control!
Made of almost unbreakable extruded polyolefin (EPO) foam, the FOX 3000 from FMS really pushes the limits of this technology. While so far EPO gliders with gliders of around 1.5-2 meters or less have been customary, the new FOX boasts a 3,000mm wingspan! Large size, attractive appearance, excellent flight characteristics - simply the ideal large recreational model for anyone who has already managed to fly two-meter EPO gliders. In addition to decent performance in thermals, the main advantage of FOXe is the ability to reliably fly basic acrobatic turns; will also delight you when flying on the slope - there is like home!
The hull of the EPO foam model is shipped with an AC motor with a rotating casing (C4258-KV460), a 15x7.5 ”folding propeller, a 70A AC controller and rudder and elevator servos. In the front of the fuselage under the large removable cabin cover is a space for batteries and onboard electronics. For FOXe you will need Li-poly six-cell 5000 mAh with 35C capacity. The rudder is controlled by a servo stored in the fin; elevator by servo mounted in horizontal stabilizer. The entire tail of the fuselage is removable for easy transportation and storage - attached to the front fuselage using a tube coupling and bayonet latch. The wing is also made of foam EPO and is slid from the side onto a carbon tube connector. Ailerons and flaps are always controlled by two servos stored in the wing. The landing gear consists of a single-track landing gear with a half-sunk main wheel and a small star wheel. Controlled by ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevator and engine speed.
To control the model you will need at least a six-channel RC set - in this case, both aileron servos and flaps are connected via Y-cables (included in the kit) into one channel. When connecting the receiver, follow the operating instructions of your RC set. Ideally, you have at least a seven-channel computer RC kit that allows independent control of aileron and flap servos (requires the connection of individual servo cables to multi-connectors between wing halves and fuselage). In this case, you can adjust the aileron variation; we recommend 50% for the start - ie the aileron downward deflection is half compared to the upward deflection. Especially for easier landing on the slope is advantageous to mix the wings as aerodynamic brakes (tip them up).
ARF set includes: ready-made model with brushless motor, speed controller and 6 servos, construction instructions.
