The RESitch is an altitude switch/limiter specially developed for the ERES motor glider category, which will ensure that the engine is switched off when the model reaches a pre-set altitude (80-200m). But it can also be used in other competition categories where the same starting height is important for all models; and can work as a normal telemetry altimeter/variometer. The RESitch contains a highly sensitive altimeter/variometer that uses components made with the latest MEMS technology to achieve high accuracy while maintaining a miniature size. The sensor is able to detect small changes in atmospheric pressure, and thus indicate the rate of ascent/descent.
FUNCTION
- Miniature dimensions
- Cables with a large cross-section do not limit the power supply to the receiver and servos from the BEC power stabilizer in the electronic speed controller
- Accurate measurement of absolute/relative altitude and rate of ascent/descent
- Optional telemetry with automatic detection: Futaba S.BUS2, Graupner HoTT, Multiplex MSB, JETI Duplex EX
- Adjustable cut-off height (80-200 m)
- Setting via the transmitter – using the transmitter menu (only JETI, HoTT), alternatively via the throttle channel (all compatible telemetry transmitters, only cut-off height).
- Updatable firmware
RESitch connects between the receiver (gas channel) and the electronic speed controller. When connecting the data output to the telemetry port on the receiver, it can also function as a regular altimeter/variometer compatible with Futaba S.BUS2, Graupner HoTT, Multiplex MSB, and JETI Duplex EX telemetry systems. To enable its use in competitions where telemetry transmission is not allowed, RESitch can operate in three modes:
- Full telemetry - RESitch behaves like a standard vario.
- Limited telemetry - only trip height is transmitted wirelessly.
- No telemetry - active in competition flight.
Setting up RESitch with JETIBOX
After connecting to the JETIBOX, you can display the current measured values (these parameters are also part of the extended menu for Graupner HoTT and JETI RC sets):
- relative height
- vario
- absolute atmospheric pressure
- temperature
And set other parameters:
- menu language (Czech, English, German, French, Italian)
- cut-off height – the height relative to the RESitch switch-on point at which the motor will be switched off
Using RESitch in competition
After setting the switch-off height, switch off the model using the transmitter or JETIBOX. After powering up again and about 3 with initializing RESitch you are ready to fly. As soon as you turn on the engine (by a signal in the throttle channel with a control pulse width greater than 1.2 ms), the timer starts and the engine turns off when any of the following conditions are met:
- The pilot pulls the throttle below the threshold signal level of 1.2 ms
- 30 seconds will pass after starting the engine
- The model exceeds the set cut-off height
It is not possible to restart the engine in flight; a new powered flight can only be taken after landing and turning RESitch off and on again. The cut-off height used during the last flight can be additionally checked after landing with the JETIBOX connected, even if the RESitch power supply has been turned off in the meantime.
KAVAN RESitch was designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic.
