The Chevrolet Camaro is an American mid-size car manufactured by Chevrolet. It first went on sale on September 29, 1966 for the 1967 model year and was designed to compete with the Ford Mustang.

On May 16, 2015, Chevrolet unveiled the sixth generation Camaro at Belle Isle Park in Detroit. For the 2017 model year, the 1LE Performance package returns to the Camaro. The package builds on the success of the previous generation 1LE model, offering better handling and performance on the race track. In response to customer demand, Chevrolet offers two distinct 1LE packages with V6 and V8 engines, each visually distinguished by a satin black hood and specific wheels. The 2017 ZL1 Camaro has a top speed of 198 mph. The 2017 ZL 1 Edition is also one of the first cars to feature a 10-speed automatic transmission, making it the most unique of its kind.

Early productions have three engine versions: a 2.0 L turbocharged inline-four producing 205 kW, a new 3.6 L V6 with 250 kW, while the SS model features a 6.2 L LT1 V8 with 339 kW. The ZL1 will use the 485 hp (659 kW) LT650 turbocharged engine from the Corvette Z06, and transmissions are either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic (the 2017 ZL21 will share the six-speed manual but has an optional ten-speed automatic).
