1973: While Black Sabbath record the master album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath in the cellars of the neo-Gothic castle of Clearwell, Slade rolls the charts with Cum on Feel the Noize and Kiss has their first concert, a kit for the motor yacht Melodie was created in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
Today's Melody faithfully preserves the shapes of its great-grandmother; as before, it has a hull and superstructures made of vacuum-molded plastic parts. The construction will be accelerated by a new plastic deck and other parts replacing the plywood in the original kit. You can build the boat as a free-floating retro model with a 4.5 V Igla motor powered by a flat battery or modify it for remote control. And go back to childhood, at least for a while ...
A model of a cabin motor boat with a simple construction intended for beginning shipbuilders.
The melody has a hull formed by a plastic molding with internal reinforcements made of plastic parts and spruce strips, a deck and a superstructure made of plastic parts. The kit contains a plastic hull molding and all other plastic and wooden parts needed to complete the model, mock-up accessories, a ship's shaft with a plastic housing and a propeller, which are suitable for 100% retro with an Igla engine.
If he wants to install a more powerful drive unit and adjust the Melody for RC control, it is necessary to install a shaft with a metal housing (eg type Compact with a flange for direct mounting of the motor). It is then possible to use, for example, a 400 series DC motor with a 15-20 A bidirectional regulator (depending on the motor) and a 6-cell NiMH or 2S LiPo battery with a capacity of 1800-3000 mAh to drive the model.
In principle, even the most ordinary two-channel RC set is enough to control the basic functions; a standard microservo is suitable for rudder control. But for the real modeler, of course, it is "obligatory" to supplement as many model functions (lights, etc.) , which will require the use of a multi - channel RC kit - and there are never enough channels.
