The GYC470 is a lightweight two-mode micro gyro with an integrated MEMS sensor developed for controlling and stabilizing the steering of car models with the possibility of remote gain control and switching of operating modes with the help of a transmitter. Its use requires only minimal setup and is equipped with an S.BUS/S.BUS2 input port. Gyro activity is signaled by an LED indicator.
Three operating modes (switched by remote gain control: signal -100%~0% Normal mode, -0% gyro off, 0%~+100% AVCS mode)
- Normal – Mode of operation of the classic gyro; the gyro suppresses the unwanted deviation only until the movement in the stabilized axis stops. The gyro dampens the unwanted steering deviation, but does not detect that the model will return to the original direction of travel.
- AVCS (Heading Hold) - In AVCS mode, the gyro not only stops unwanted movement in the stabilized axis, but is able to return the model to the original direction of travel, making the stabilization of the model control much more effective.
- Gyro Off – Stabilization is off, only you control the model.
Both stabilization modes can have their advantages in different driving modes and piloting styles; thanks to the possibility of remote switching, you can choose the optimal operating mode with the optimal gain value individually for each driving mode.
Remote profit management
Using one channel of the RC kit for remote gain control, it is possible to adjust the gyro gain with the help of the transmitter. You can thus have the optimal gain value programmed on the transmitter for each driving mode of the model.
Deflection limit
With the trimmer on the gyro, it is possible to set the limit of the maximum deviations of the steering servo independently to the right and left. This ensures that the servo and steering mechanism do not go beyond the mechanical limits of the possible range of motion.
Gyro response direction switch, SR mode switch
The switches are used to toggle the direction of gyro response and enable/disable SR mode (only with compatible Futaba servos and RC kits).
Connecting to the receiver
The Gyro can be connected to a classic receiver with PWM channel outputs for individual servos (control channel + gain control channel) or to the S.BUS/S.BUS2 serial output of the receiver - in that case, only one cable is enough.
Compatible servos
Gyro can work exclusively with digital servos (for 4.8 V and HV up to 8.4 V power supply). When using a compatible transmitter (Futaba T10PX/T7PX/T7PXR/T7XC/T4PM) and receiver (Futaba R334SBS/R334SBS-E, R404SB/R404SB-E with T10PX only), it allows Futaba digital servos to be used in SR mode with extremely fast response. It is not possible to use the UR (Ultra Response) mode of the T10PX.
The gyro set includes: GYC470 gyro, double-sided foam adhesive tape for fixing the gyro, connection cables, miniature screwdriver, user manual.
