KAVAN lithium phosphate (LiFe) batteries are an ideal source for powering compatible model transmitters and receivers. They are characterized by high energy density providing high capacity with relatively low weight and small dimensions. Thanks to the advanced technology used in the production of electrodes, they enable fast charging - with a long service life and a favorable purchase price.
BASIC FEATURES OF LiFe CAVAN ARTICLES:
The nominal voltage of the LiFe cells is 3.2 V. In operation, the cell voltage must never exceed 3.6 V during charging and must not fall below 2.5 V during discharging. Exceeding these values is likely to cause irreversible damage to the battery. For this reason, special chargers for LiFe batteries must be used for charging. Failure to follow the correct charging procedure, as well as shorting the cell, leads to overheating of the cell and its damage by generated gases. In the extreme case, a chemical reaction may start with the risk of cell explosion. Although LiFe batteries are completely safe when handled, do not underestimate this danger.
CHARGING LiFe BATTERIES KAVAN
Always use a special charger designed for LiFe batteries for charging. It must be equipped with automation to ensure that the maximum allowable voltage of 3.6 V (+ 1%) per cell is not exceeded. Do not charge KAVAN LiFe batteries with a current greater than 1C *, for normal operation we recommend using currents in the range of 0.5-1C. We recommend using a balancer each time you charge.
We also recommend checking the voltage of the individual cells of the set before charging. If the cell voltage is lower than 2.8 V, it means that you are overloading and over-discharging them during operation.
Unlike NiCd and NiMH cells, LiFe batteries do not require initial molding, but if you intend to charge the kits with 1C, we recommend not to exceed 0.5C for the first three charging cycles. LiFe batteries also do not need to be discharged before charging - for example, you can charge 50% discharged batteries.
OPERATION OF LiFe BATTERIES
Use only devices adapted for use with LiFe batteries. Try to avoid placing heavy loads on the batteries if they have a residual charge of less than about 20-25% of the rated capacity (less than 3.0 V per cell). LiFe cells of any brand are sensitive to overload in this area, which shortens their service life.
STORAGE
The batteries are stored in a partially charged state, the voltage on the individual cells should be in the range of 3.30-3.35 V. If they are stored out of service for a longer period of time, check the batteries at least every 3 months and recharge to the storage voltage.
SADY KAVAN LiFe
Charging (power) cables are equipped with standard JR / UNI servo connectors, all sets are equipped with a standard JST-XH system service connector.
