Sports semi-model of aerobatic aircraft powered by a 100-130 ccm gasoline engine for experienced pilots to fly classic precision and extreme 3D acrobatics.
The fuselage of the model is a classic construction of plywood and balsa laser cut parts reinforced with Kevlar® and carbon with a removable laminate engine cover and a removable upper fuselage with a cabin for perfect access to the propulsion system and RC equipment. The motor is fixed in the rear assembly to the plywood box bed.
Two-piece wing with symmetrical profile (the halves slide from the side onto a carbon tube coupler and secure with screws) is also a classic construction with an all-balsa rigid skin. Ailerons with a large area are controlled by 2 pairs of servos.
The tail surfaces are light all-balsa construction, the VOP is two-part with stabilizer halves pushed onto the carbon tube. The elevator halves are controlled by servos mounted in the horizontal stabilizer with short straight rods. The turn signal is controlled by cable drive. The entire model is covered with ULTRACOTE® iron-on film (this is the trade mark used in the USA for the well-known Oracover® films).
The chassis is a spur type with carbon main legs, wheels with laminate covers and a wire spur with a carbon bracket mated to the turn signal.
You will need a 100-130 cc gasoline engine (e.g. GP-123) for propulsion.
To control the model, at least a nine-channel computer RC set will do - the possibility of precise setting of "pair" servos and programming of double and exponential deflections in the right size is essential for flying acrobatics - classic precision and extreme 3D.
Servos that are fast and very strong in a standard size will do - eg Futaba S9177SV, Hitec Hitec HS-7950TH, D980TW or HSB-9381TH and one standard servo for throttle control.
Kit includes: iron-on foil coated fuselage, wing and tail surfaces, sprayed laminate engine cover, accessory kit, carbon chassis, spur, wheels and instructions.
