Extreme Flight aerobatic models are loosely based on real aircraft, and the designer has allowed himself a number of modifications to create a model with a unique look and flight performance. The EXP designation has nothing to do with the actual aircraft, but is an abbreviation of the words "Experimental Progressive". This designation was chosen because the Extreme Flight models use several advanced design and aerodynamic concepts. In the lightweight construction, which is based on balsa and plywood parts, carbon and glass composite materials are generously used - and in the right places - to achieve high strength and rigidity of the kite at minimum weight. The result is a robust model capable of handling aerodynamic loads over a wide range, but light enough to achieve high performance.
The kit includes tuning winglets or Side Force Generators (SFGs) that increase the effective side area of the model, making knife flight and other rudder-dependent turns easier and more stable. These winglets also make the model more stable at high angle turns. We strongly recommend that you mount them on a model and experiment with them.
The perfectly sprayed laminate engine cover and aerodynamic wheel covers as well as the possibility to choose from several color schemes of the ULTRACOTE (= Oracover) iron-on foil cover with high visibility will provide you with a model that you will be justly proud of at the airport. The combination of all these modern elements creates a model that pushes the boundaries of modern acrobatic flying. Extreme Flight models excel in all modes of modern aerial acrobatics, including slow 3D acrobatics at low altitude, fast and aggressive extreme acrobatics and classic precision acrobatics.
Sports semi-scale model of an American aerobatic aircraft powered by an alternating electric motor class AXI 2814 or Torque 2818/820 for experienced pilots for flying classic precision and extreme 3D acrobatics. / p>
The fuselage of the model is a classic construction of plywood and balsa laser-cut parts with composite reinforcements with a removable laminate engine cover and a removable upper fuselage with a cabin for perfect access to the propulsion system and RC equipment. The motor is mounted in the rear mounting on a plywood box bed.
The two-part sash with a symmetrical profile (the halves slide on the side onto the carbon pipe coupling and secure with screws) is also a classic construction with an all-balsa rigid coating. The ailerons with a large area are controlled by 2 independent servos. You can provide the wing ends with the supplied winglets or laminate end arches.
The tail surfaces are all-balsa with an internal geodetic structure; The GTC is one-piece with a stabilizer glued to the fuselage. The elevator and rudder is controlled by servos mounted in the tail of the fuselage with short straight rods. The entire model is covered with ULTRACOTE iron-on foil (this is the trademark used in the USA for the well-known Oracover foils).
The chassis is of the spur type with carbon main legs, light wheels with laminate covers and a wire spur with a carbon bracket coupled to the rudder.
The V2 version brings improvements in the form of the use of carbon-coated plywood in exposed areas of the fuselage, a quick-release system of the wings and cabin and two new color schemes identical to the larger MXS models.
For the drive you will need an AC electric motor class AXI 2814 with a 40-50 A speed controller powered by a four-cell LiPo battery 2100-2700 mAh with a load capacity of at least 40C.
At least a four-channel computer RC kit is suitable for controlling the model - the possibility of programming double and exponential deviations in the correct size is essential for flying acrobatics - classic accurate and extreme 3D.
Servos suit fast and strong in sub-micro size - e.g. Hitec HS-65MG, HS-5065MG etc.
The kit includes: ironing foil fuselage, wing and tail surfaces, sprayed laminate engine cover, complete set of accessories, carbon chassis, spur, light wheels and instructions.
