Our forest is teeming with life. Animals run through the clearings looking for something to eat. Some enjoy the dense treetops, while others prefer the rich forest undergrowth that provides them with safe shelter.
In the Mixed Forest game, you will create an ecologically balanced environment for flora and fauna. By planting trees, you will build a thriving home for various species of animals, plants and fungi. In order to get the most points, however, you must meet their requirements: some animals require the presence of their species, while others require a specific environment or food.
The winner at the end of the game is the player with the most points.
How to play?
You can take exactly one of the two available actions on your turn:
A) Draw two cards.
B) Pay the price for the card, place it in your forest and activate its effects and any bonuses.
Card types:
Trees
Trees provide places to match split cards on each of their four sides: top, bottom, left, and right. When no card has yet been assigned to a slot, that slot is considered empty, the tree is fully occupied if at least one card is assigned to each of its four sides.
Tree seedlings
Instead of playing a tree card, you can play any card from your hand face down as a universal tree seedling. Like a tree, a tree sapling provides places for matching cards on all four of its sides. However, unlike trees, they do not belong to
none of the eight tree species and is not even considered a separate species.
Animals, plants and fungi
Divided cards contain different forest organisms: animals, plants and fungi. When you play a split card, you must match it to the empty space on the corresponding side of the tree in your forest. If you want to play an animal that is on the card on the left, you must place that card on the left side of the tree card by sliding its right unused part under the tree card. The same procedure applies to the animals on the right side, top and bottom.
