The Tiger I was the first German heavy battle tank that was used during World War II. It was introduced in 1942, after the inferiority of the previous Panzer III and Panzer IV models against the Soviet T-34 and KW-1 became evident. The design of the tiger emphasized armor and armament. The 88mm gun and its high penetrating power were surpassed by only a few weapons before the end of the war. A standard 39 shell penetrated 1000 m of steel 100 mm. So the Tiger could destroy an attacking T-34 tank from twice the distance from which it itself was threatened.

Powered by AA batteries, rechargeable AA batteries or 9.6V, 650 mAh Ni-Mh battery (batteries and rechargeable batteries not included).
