Leopard 2 is Germany's main battle tank, continuously developed from the 1970s to the present by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The first version of this tank entered service in 1979, in the following years gradually replaced the older type Leopard 1. Various versions served and serve in the German Armed Forces and in the armies of 16 other countries, including Poland, Sweden, Greece, Turkey and others. .
The development of the successor to the Leopard 1 tank began in the early 1970s. Already in the years 1972-3, a total of 17 prototypes were produced equipped with 105 and 120 mm cannons. In 1977, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann won a contract to manufacture the first 1,800 vehicles for the German Bundeswehr.
The development of various versions of the tank has been going on continuously since 1979. The main part today is the Leopard 2A4 versions with vertically shaped tower armor, version 2A5 and version 2A6. The latest versions produced (2A6, 2A7) have an arrow-shaped additional tower armor along with a number of other improvements. All models are equipped with a digital fire control system with laser rangefinders, a fully stabilized main weapon and a coaxial machine gun, as well as advanced night vision and observation equipment. The tank has the ability to hit moving targets when moving on uneven terrain.

The duels are provided by the Airsoft Combat System, which shoots BB bullets. The tank can be switched to an IR system that is compatible with Tamiya models. The tank turret is rotatable to the sides by 320 ° (160 ° on each side), the controllable inclination of the cannon (up / down) guarantees accuracy when firing. A red indicator on the tower indicates a successful hit from the tank. The force of the firing cannon is demonstrated by the recoil, when the tank jerks after the shot, and the same in the IR version. He also shoots with an anti-infantry machine gun, which is simulated by sound and lighting. An LED headlight is attached to the front of the tank.
