The kit of the non-floating historical model of the sailing ship MAMOLI Roter Löwe from 1597, is 1:55 scale and has a total length of 720mm. Galleon Roter Löwe was built in the Netherlands as a merchant ship and was purchased for the city council of Königsberg in Brandenburg in 1561. The package includes wooden parts, moldings and a number of fittings, rigging, plans, etc.
Galleon Roter Löwe served From 1602 to 1605 served in Pillau under the command of Captain Peter Hinz. In October 1608, under the command of Captain Johann Fett, the galleon sailed with a shipment of wood to Lisbon, where it was sold with cargo. Based on the tonnage of 240 tons and the method of construction, it is possible to reconstruct the parameters of the ship 28 meters long from the keel to the stern and a width of about 8 meters. The kit is equipped with all wood parts and metal fittings and very good, easy-to-read drawings, which are particularly interesting for their detailed construction and indicate the level of shipbuilding at the time it represents. Individual parts are predominantly ready, keel and ribs are already carved.
