The model is a type of Viking ship found in 1880 near Gokstad, Norway. The ship was built in the second half of the ninth century. The good nautical abilities of this ship were proven in 1893, when a replica was built with which Magnus Anderson sailed from Norway to the USA. The length of the ship was 24m and width 5.2m. The keel and planks were oak. The ship was propelled by 32 oars and one rectangular sail.
