Scale model of the Vaurien 1:10 scale is an exact replica and is based on original drawing documentation. Wooden parts are precisely manufactured on a CNC laser. Wooden parts are recommended to be dyed to the desired shade of wood before installation. Metal parts are etched in brass. The mast and boom are composed of several laser parts and then reground. Plan and building manual with detailed pictures are included.
Vaurien is a widespread international regatta boat. Jean Jacques Herbulot designed a lightweight and inexpensive barge in 1951 for sailing the Les Glénans school. The International Yachting Federation (ISAF) recognized Vaurient as one international design in 1961. More than 36,000 ships were built. Vaurien is stable and easy to use for beginners. Vaurien is well suited for sailing training - sailing at optimal speed requires skill at the helm and good teamwork.
