Model kit Krick Gulnara kit for advanced demanding ship modelers. The model was the Gulnara ship of the Sardinian Navy, in operation since 1835, was built in England. The kit contains pre-processed wooden parts, a set of fittings and a plan with instructions.
Gulnara is a typical example of the transition from sailboat to steamer. The steam engine was to be considered a purely auxiliary propulsion of this ship. The ship was still full of sails. Designed as an escort and personal, Gulnara served in Sardinia until 1861. Then it was taken over by the Italian Navy. The Gulnara was equipped with an oscillating steam engine from Fawcett & Preston, Liverpool. Part of the blades rotated under the covers to reduce driving resistance.
