Kit of the non-floating model COREL Eagle brig in scale 1:85 from 1812. USS Eagle, sloop, was a merchant ship, purchased in Vergennes, Vermont on Lake Champlain in 1812 and equipped for naval service. The plan is very detailed, the package includes wooden parts, moldings and a number of fittings, rigging, canvas for sails and more.
The Eagle sailed on the lake under the command of Captain J. Loomis as part of Commodore Fleet Thomas Macdonough, which is blocking British progress from Canada. General George Taylor of the 100th Regiment captured Eagle on June 3, 1813, on the Sorrell River near Ile aux Noix on the Canadian side of the lake after a three-and-a-half-hour battle. The British victims were injured and three men were killed on the American side and eight seriously injured. Both vessels were taken to the Royal Navy, but the Americans captured them again the following year.
