K-19 became the first Soviet nuclear submarine with ballistic missiles aboard. In terms of performance characteristics, this was an excellent submarine. During the first battle patrol, however, there was a serious breakdown of the nuclear reactor on board the ship. The whole situation took place on 4 July 1961 in the North Atlantic. Regardless of her own health, her crew sacrificed to keep the critical situation under control. Despite the number of failures and misfortunes that occurred on this submarine, he held this machine in service until 1990.
