EKRANOPLÁN A-90 "ORLYONOK"
A-90 Orlyonok was a means of transport using a dynamic ground-floor effect, designed by the design office of Rostislav Alexeev, author of famous high-speed wingships for passenger transport such as Rocket, Meteor and others. Orlyonok was to be used for planting units with an operating range of 1500 km and a speed of up to 500 km / h. Equinox has speed as an airplane, but its considerable carrying capacity is closer to ships. The front part of Orlyonok can be opened on the sides and up to 200 full-fledged Marines or two armored vehicles (tanks, armored personnel carriers, or infantry combat vehicles) can be hauled on board. The A-90 is not a threat to naval mines or other obstacles, as it moves several meters above the water surface or other relatively flat surface and can also land on the beach. In total, three such equiplanes were built, the first of which entered service at the Soviet Naval Air Force in 1977.
