Original information:
The F-4 Phantom II, developed by the American design company McDonnell Douglas, is a two-seat all-weather supersonic fighter bomber. He entered operational service in the 1960s and is one of the most famous aircraft in the history of military aviation. The original project was designed specifically for the US Navy, but was eventually used by all US troops and achieved considerable commercial success around the world. The F-4E version, created especially for the US Air Force, received as part of the armament M61 Vulcan cannon placed on the bow, which could be further supplemented for air superiority missions by air-to-air missiles AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-9 Sparrow. Thanks to its two powerful General Electric J-79 jet engines, the F-4E version was able to reach a maximum speed of 1240 knots. Speed, thrust and reliability were the biggest advantages of the Phantom II and were able to successfully balance its poorer handling due to its large size.
