The VW Schwimmwagen TYP 166 could be called the most successful amphibious vehicle of all time. The predecessor of this legend was developed on the basis of the immortal VW "Beetle" and during the production of the Type 166 for the WeHrmacht, 15,584 units were produced from 1941 to the summer of 1944. The amphibian was powered by a gasoline air-cooled four-cylinder 1131 cm3 engine, which had 25 horsepower, when it reached a speed of about 80 km/h on the road and about 10 km/h in the water. The car had 4-wheel drive where it was possible to switch off the front axle drive. The gearbox had a special gear for safe coasting. Thanks to its excellent driving characteristics and very low weight, the VW Schwimmwagen TYP 166 repeatedly outperforms modern competitors in modern off-road competitions.

As the name clearly reveals, this is an amphibious army car that not only drives on land, but also actually floats thanks to the folding propeller. The electronics are ingeniously and thoroughly protected against the ingress of water. The body, which is worked out in detail, including the interior, is made of high-quality plastic, and the wheels have real quality rubber tires. The model is delivered in 100% RTR, which means that the equipment includes everything necessary for operation, including batteries for the controller. So will it be a cruise or a ride... Or both?
