The first combat version of the AH-1G was intended mainly for direct support of ground forces. But the command of the US Army found that it urgently needed helicopters capable of fighting tanks. These were, for example, mainly in Europe, threatened by the mass of Soviet tanks. Therefore, the AH-1Q and AH-1S battle versions were produced, and part of the older AH-1Gs were rebuilt to the standards of the AH-1Q and S versions. The AH-1Q and S versions were armed with TOW missiles. However, the mainly rebuilt helicopters still retained some elements typical of the older version of the AH-1G helicopters.
The highly detailed model consists of nine frames of gray plastic parts and a frame of clear parts. The decals offer two American olive colored AH-1S machines, one is decorated with a drawing of a playboy bunny, the other flew with the Massachusetts National Guard, the American dark green AH-1Q and the very attractive color (tricolor camouflage) AH-1S of the Turkish army.
