POPkultura is a standalone expansion of When Did It Happen? Contains 100 new cards from the fields of music, film, computer games, famous brands, etc.
When did it happen? is a card game with a timeline. It is played with double-sided cards that have an event on one side and the year of the event on the other. Players do not see event dates until cards are chosen to be placed on the timeline in one of the two game modes.
COOPERATIVE GAME
Each player starts the game with 4 cards. On their turn, players must do one of the following: Place 1 or 2 cards on the timeline, one at a time, or discard 1 card. At the end of their turn, players draw cards from the draw deck until they have 4 cards in front of them. Then, in clockwise order, the next player begins their turn. The goal of the game is to load as many cards as possible into the timeline. An attempt to place a card can have several results - the card is placed at the beginning of the timeline / the card is placed at the end of the timeline / the card is placed in the second row between two already placed cards / the card cannot be placed and the player will no longer be able to use it in the game.
Feel free to communicate and discuss your cards as much as possible. Each player has the final say on their turn as to whether to play or discard the cards in front of them, but they can ask their teammates for advice.
The more cards you place on the timeline as a team, the better your score will be. There is a huge gap between the rookie team and the time travelers.
COMPETITIVE GAME
In competitive play, players try to alternately get rid of their dealt cards as quickly as possible by placing them in the timeline. Unlike a cooperative game, here players must directly announce to which place in the timeline their event belongs before revealing a card. If he places the card correctly, he gets rid of it. If he misplaces a card, he removes it from the game, but must draw a new one in its place.
