The car made its competitive debut at the opening event of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship season, the 1000 Miles of Sebring 2023. In its first appearance at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 499P driven by Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Piero Guidi and James Calado won the race. It was Ferrari's first overall win at Le Mans since the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans, ending Toyota Gazoo Racing's five-match winning streak. At the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari achieved its eleventh victory, its second at Le Mans since 1965, with the 499P car no. 50 driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen.
