The Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta was introduced in 1959 at the Paris Motor Show as well as a shortened version of SWB, designed by Pinin Farina for its graceful, non-aggressive body. The bodywork on the tubular frame was fitted with a revised three-liter, twelve-cylinder fork-lift engine of 280 hp.

The 250 GT SWB excelled in its excellent balance of performance, exceptional track hold, brilliant braking effect, and was the epitome of Enzo Ferrari's acceptably expensive truck that the client can ride on the road during the week and successfully compete on the circuits at weekends.
