Affordable 1:24 scale Axial SCX24 Base Camp small RC car model. The model is equipped with multi-element suspension and 4x4 drive for off-road driving. This is an ideal entry-level model that has all the features you need. It features a Dynamite 88T DC motor with gearbox, a quality Spektrum control unit and a powerful servo for precise proportional control. Everything you need is in the package - a 2.4GHz RC kit, a 7.4V 350mAh LiPo battery and a USB charger. Driving time is up to 40 min.
Unlike other micro models available, the SCX24 Base Camp doesn't compromise on performance and features for the price. The proven SCX24 chassis with all Spektrum electronics has been retained. Unlike other SCX24 models, LED lighting is not included, the bodywork is not licensed and the dampers are spring (no oil). Newbies can thus enjoy driving with a pure RC model. For experienced drivers, the model can serve as an economical platform for a new project. Whether you're heading out or setting up an obstacle course at home, the SCX24 Base Camp will always be ready to handle any challenge.
For driving, the model is equipped with steel C-beam chassis, multi-link suspension with steel rods, straight solid axles and shock absorbers with springs. Permanent four-wheel drive drives a DC motor through a gearbox, center shafts and worm gears in transfer cases. The body is finished, painted and made of durable polycarbonate.
Base Camp's durable polycarbonate body is factory-painted and includes detailed decals. Licensed Demello bumpers add to the realism.
Officially licensed Falken Wildpeak M/T tires provide excellent grip and are mounted on officially licensed Black Rhino one-piece wheels for an enhanced look.
Like the platform of the larger 1:10 scale SCX10™ II chassis, the SCX24™ chassis features robust C-profile steel frame members to ensure high chassis stiffness and strength, keeping the chassis sufficiently stiff even under high axle misalignment.
The front and rear timing gear is equipped with a worm gear to ensure the transmission of maximum power to the axles and at the same time to ensure a permanent brake when the car stops. Small dimensions will allow you to create a greater ground clearance.
The front and rear straight axles are assembled from a two-part plastic molding in which the drive steel shafts are mounted in ball bearings. For optimal handling, the SCX24™ suspension is equipped with a three-point front and four-point rear suspension.
The high torque of the worm gear requires the use of steel drive shafts. Only they can transfer power to the wheels even on difficult climbs.
The front and rear drive shafts from the central transmission to the distribution boxes are 2-part splined and allow maximum axial displacement of the shafts while maintaining the transmitted power.
For maximum mobility, reduction of axle twist and elimination of torque, a 4-point suspension design has been developed, which is used on the rear axle of the SCX24.
The Tazer 180 88T engine on the SCX24 chassis is specially designed for 1:24 RC car models, where, together with the optimally adjusted gearbox, it provides the axles with the necessary torque for steep climbs.
The Spektrum SLT2 dual-channel transmitter offers a number of useful features such as throttle path adjustment and throttle control and limiting. It is ergonomically designed for long rides without fatigue and has a foam steering wheel for precise control. The RTR package is thus complete, including the transmitter's AA batteries.
Even though it is a small model, it is equipped with the same ball bearings as a large car. No sliding bearings, only ball bearings. If you drive in a wet or dusty environment, don't forget to clean and lubricate!

To power the USB charger, we recommend using a powerful network universal USB adapter (source) (18W).
A charging cable with an IC3 battery reducer - JST-PH is required to connect the battery to the charger.
Attach a two-axle trailer to the model that includes LED lighting and ramps that are always ready and stored under the chassis. The towing device is part of the cart's packaging.
The model can be upgraded to AC drive using a sensor motor and controller. This Combo was specially developed for the SCX24 and AX24 platform. The alternating sensor drive offers high performance, long life and precise speed control corresponding to the throttle position. Upgrading to AC drive in this model does not require replacing the RC kit, as the installed control unit in the model can only be used as a receiver.
Recommended components:
For the normal operation of the Axial RC car, you need tire glue, screw glue and a set of tools. We recommend an affordable tool kit for RC cars from our range. The model also uses screws in inch units, so we recommend a 1/20" Allen screwdriver.
Tire glue is used to glue the tires to the disc rim. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly stuck to the wheel rim all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, after hardening, the glue is flexible. We recommend Robitronic Tire Glue from our offer.
For routine maintenance, screw glue is needed. Screws screwed into the metal material (e.g. screws in the motor, worm gear in the pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity for a long driving time. Conversely, the LiPo battery is especially susceptible to mechanical damage.
