    Template information:

The fifth-generation Ford Mustang is a two-door, four-seat pony car produced and sold by Ford from 2004 to 2014, model years 2005 to 2014 - it carried the internal designation S197 and was sold in coupe and convertible body styles. Assembly took place at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. The fifth generation started with the 2005 model year and received a facelift for the 2010 model year.

Originally proposed by Sid Ramnarace in late 2001 and completed in mid-2002, the design of the fifth-generation Mustang was foreshadowed by two pre-production concept cars that debuted at the 2003 North American International Auto Show. Development of the S-197 program began in 1999 under the direction of chief designer Hau Thai-Tanga, shortly after the launch of the SN-95 "New Edge" facelift in 1998. From the second half design work began in 1999 under Ford design chief J. Mays and ended in July 2002 with a design freeze. Several variants of the fifth generation Ford Mustang were produced, including the Mustang GT/California Special, the Shelby Mustang, the Bullitt Mustang, and the Boss 302 Mustang.
