    Template information:

The Ford Motor Company introduced the De Luxe Ford line in 1938 as a luxury alternative to fill the gap between the base model (usually called Standard) and luxury Lincoln cars. The "Deluxe" name was first used from 1930 to denote higher trims starting with the 40-B and 45-B models, later the De Luxe Ford range was differentiated as a separate "brand within a brand" with separate styling and pricing until 1940. In By 1939, Ford had five lines of cars: Ford, De Luxe Ford, Mercury, Lincoln-Zephyr and Lincoln. After the war there was a simplification to Ford, Mercury and Lincoln. The 1941 Ford line included "De Luxe" and "Super De Luxe" trims, but these cars were not sold as a separate line. As sales of the Mercury Eight progressed, the "De Luxe" approach was dropped.
