Dodge Challenger is the name of three different generations of cars (two of which are pony cars) produced by the American car company Dodge.

The first generation was introduced in the fall of 1969 for the 1970 model year. For its initial model year, the Challenger was available in two lines, the Challenger and Challenger R/T, and three models, a two-door hardtop, a Special Edition two-door hardtop, or a convertible.

The performance model was the Challenger R / T (Road / Track) with a 250 kW "Magnum" V8 engine. The standard transmission was a 3-speed manual. The R/T's optional engines were a 280 kW Magnum, a 291 kW Six-Pack, and a 317 kW Hemi. The R/T was available in either a hardtop or convertible. The Challenger R/T came with a Rallye instrument cluster that included a 240 km/h speedometer, an 8,000 rpm tachometer and an oil pressure gauge.
