The Ford GT is a popular sports car that is widespread throughout the world thanks to its relatively large production runs. The first generation Ford GT has been in production since 2006 and the current 2nd generation has been in production since 2017.

The 2nd generation cars are powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder fork with an output of 482 kW as standard. The Heritage 1968 edition belongs to a limited series that commemorates the victory in the 24 Hours of Le Man in 1968 and 1969.

In August 2018, Ford introduced the third special Heritage Edition model. The 2019 Heritage Edition celebrates the Ford GT40 in the Gulf Bay, which was the overall winner of the 1968 and 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans. The body is Heritage Blue with stripes of Heritage Orange painted. Unlike the two previous variants in the series, the Heritage Edition 2019 will be offered for two model years. Models manufactured in 2019 have a start number of 9 and models built in 2020 have a start number of 6. Regardless of the model year, the rims are painted dark gray, the brake calipers are painted orange. Inside, there are blue and orange contrast stitching on the steering wheel and seats. The latter also receive a new mintage, which is inspired by the winning car from 1968.
