For the first time, the Porsche 918 Spyder was introduced as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. The Porsche 918 Spyder base consists of a carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminate that complements aluminum and magnesium. The 918 Spyder is a super sport, but, like most Porsche cars, it is also much more usable in normal operation compared to direct competition. It is powered by a 4.6 liter 60-horsepower eight-cylinder (453 kW) engine. The car is a hybrid, so electric motors add another 279 hp (208 kW). The combined power of all engines in the car is then 661 kW (887 hp).
