KAVAN CAR 25% nitro - fuel for recreational RC cars

The tax is collected from model fuel in accordance with the Excise Tax Act. This means that model fuel is subject to tax according to the Consumer Tax Act and amounts to CZK 12.84 per liter. The price is shown including consumption tax.The product contains substances classified as dangerous in the sense of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. The acquisition, importation, possession or use of this product by the general public is restricted by Regulation (EU) 2019/1148. All suspicious transactions and significant disappearances and thefts should be reported to the appropriate national contact point.
Sale and registration of modeling fuels containing nitromethane
One of the precursors of explosives subject to restrictions according to Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 and Act No. 225/2022 Coll. on precursors of explosives and on the amendment of related laws is nitromethane ; as a result, it is only possible to sell modeling fuels containing up to 16% nitromethane by weight to consumers from 1 February 2021. According to Article 3 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1148, the sale of fuels with a higher nitromethane content is only possible to professional users, which are natural or legal persons or a public entity or a group of such persons or entities who demonstrably need an explosives precursor subject to restrictions for the purposes of to their trade, business or profession. When selling, their identity must be verified and the sale registered. Records must be kept for a period of at least 5 years and provided for inspection by the competent authorities (ČBÚ) upon request.
Since Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 of the European Parliament and of the Council lists nitromethane as one of the substances for which, for concentrations in the range of 16-100% by weight, according to Article 5, paragraph 3 of this Regulation, it is permissible to make it available to the public based on a permit, we will try in cooperation with the Association of Modelers of the Czech Republic to achieve that this is made possible by the relevant government regulation or decree.

I have a fuel bottle containing 25% nitromethane at home - what should I do?
Previously purchased products containing more than 16% nitromethane by weight purchased over the counter or on the basis of a permit issued before 02/01/2021 may be used and stored by their holders until 02/02/2022 (or until the expiry of the original permit - whichever occurs previously). After that, it will only be possible on the basis of a currently valid permit issued after February 1, 2021.
