Original Information:
In 1977, Renault made its French debut in the Formula 1 World Championship with its dedicated team, which brought important innovations to the racing world. In the 1980 season, he took part in the World Championship with the Renault RE20 powered by the V6 Renault Gordini EF1 turbocharged engine, which was able to deliver 520 horsepower. The whole team, including the pilots, was French, with Jean-Pierre Jabouille at the start number 15 and René Arnoux at number 16 on the wheel of the car. The Renault 20 Series underwent modifications and improvements, but in 1981, after the first five races, it was replaced by the Series 30 with redesigned chassis.
