Package contents
The package includes a kit of the RC model of the Arcus E PNP glider, a multilingual manual in English, German, French and instructions in Czech.
Characteristics
The 2.24m PNP Arcus E Glider RC model has super features, retractable motor, retractable undercarriage and brake shields! At the same time, however, it retains the advantage of the robust EPO material from which the model is made. The motor, regulator, control unit and 8 servos are installed. Without RC kit. A LiPol 3S 1300mAh battery is recommended for the drive (not included in the package).
The model kit includes a fuselage with installed electronics and propulsion components, a wing with complete servo installation and brake shields, an elevator and a wing clutch. Installation is very simple, the elevator is connected to the tie rod and attached to the rudder with a screw. The wing halves with the coupling are slid into the cut-out in the fuselage, the servo cables are extended into the cabin space and the wing is secured against extension. Put your own receiver in the model, an RC set with at least 6 channels is required to control the model. Channel 7 is required if you want to control motor extension separately. As standard, the throttle and engine extension are controlled only by the throttle lever via the control unit (mix). The chassis is on the 5th channel and the brake shields are controlled by the 6th channel.
The model has controlled rudder, elevator, ailerons, engine, retractable landing gear and brake shields. Thanks to the auxiliary engine, you can fly much longer than with engine models. You can fly in thermals, downslope or just for fun. The model is storable and preparation for flight takes a short time.
Features of the Arcus E glider
- RC model of the Arcus E glider from EPO
- Automatic retraction of auxiliary engine with propeller
- Tail surfaces in a T arrangement
- Engine tilt control unit
- Retractable undercarriage wheel with covers
- Functional braking shields to shorten the landing
- Transparent cabin with cockpit
- Wing with carbon reinforcements
- Winglets on the wingtips
- AC motor, 20A E-COLINE regulator
- 8 servings of E-COLINE 9/25g
- Multilingual, illustrated assembly instructions
Retracting the engine
The auxiliary engine on the back of the fuselage can be inserted into the fuselage compartment and the covers are closed. Thanks to this, you get an aerodynamically clean glider for flying in thermals, which can last longer in gliding flight thanks to less air resistance. If necessary, you can always extend the engine and climb again.
Brake shields
It is not common for a two-meter glider to be equipped with brakes, the Arcus E is equipped with them and therefore has excellent helpers when landing. With gliders, it is usually necessary to budget carefully for the landing so that the model does not overfly the airport, but with Arcus this is not a problem, you fly to the airport, apply the brakes and simply land.
Retractable chassis
The landing gear consists of a bow auxiliary fixed wheel and a main retracting wheel. It is controlled by a separate channel, and when enclosed in the hull, the wheel is covered by a two-piece door.
Elevator assembly
When assembling the model, you slide the rod on the elevator lever and attach the entire elevator with a screw to the landing surface on top of the rudder.
We recommend to buy
We recommend purchasing a 6+ channel RC kit, a 1300mAh 3S LiPol battery and a charger.
Recommended batteries
We recommend a 3-cell (11.1 V) LiPol drive battery to power the model.
- For light weight Spektrum Smart LiPo 11.1V 1300mAh 30C IC3 with IC3 connector with Smart technology and balancer connector.
- For economy flying Spektrum Smart G2 LiPo 11.1V 2200mAh 30C IC3 with IC3 connector with Smart technology
Spektrum batteries with Smart technology currently represent the most modern and safest way to maintain and charge batteries. The benefits of Spektrum Smart technology can be found here.
Recommended Spektrum transmitters
To pair the BNF version model, we recommend modern SPEKTRUM programmable transmitters:
- 6-channel DX Spektrum DX6e DSMX series transmitter with telemetry, 250 models in memory .
- 6-channel transmitter of the NX Spektrum NX6 DSMX series with the latest trends, Smart Technology compatibility, USB port and WiFi connectivity .
- 8-channel transmitter of the NX Spektrum NX8 DSMX series with the latest trends, Smart Technology compatibility, USB port and WiFi connectivity .
Recommended chargers for conventional LiPol and Smart batteries
If you decide to use modern in RC models of airplanes or helicopters Smart LiPo batteries , or to charge your batteries from other manufacturers, then we recommend these chargers:
- Network charger Spektrum S155 with one output 1x 55W .
- Network charger Spektrum S1100 with one output 1x 100W .
- Network charger Spektrum S2100 with one output 2x 100W .
- Network charger Spektrum S2200 with two outputs 2x 200W .
Accessories for normal operation
For the normal operation of flying RC models, you need suitable adhesives, a set of tools and a storage case for LiPol batteries. From our assortment, we recommend a quality set of 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm allen screwdrivers and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) will certainly come in handy for assembly, and for cutting a Modelcraft cutting knife with an A6 pad.
For quick repair of model airplanes, we recommend the fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy glue. From our offer, we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g
Protective covers for accumulators
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity. The LiPo battery is particularly susceptible to mechanical damage and therefore needs to be thoroughly protected.
